We visited the Agra Fort, Emperor Akbar's home until his death at the age of 74. He was exiled here by his son, Jahangir, when he was usurped after Mumtaz's death. The construction started in 1565 and took several years to complete. Akbar's two daughters also lived inthe fort with him during the last decade of exile. The eldest was the beloved daughter who took care of the family after her mother's death. She also took care of her father as he became unable to do so for himself. The youngest was more interested in money and power. She had several young lovers and escapades in the fort and eventually took power of the kingdom after her elder sister.
