The Jantar Mantar

At the Jantar Mantar Observatory, we saw the largest sundial. It stands 90 feet high. It was built in the 17th century by Jai Singh a famous astronomer. He toured other observatories of that time to make sure that his was the most "perfect". Because of the height of this sundial, it is accurate within 2 seconds. If the height was doubled it would be accurate to 1 second, but it would be subjected to the elements that could throw off its accuracy.
