The Amber Fort was built in 1500's and took over 100 years to complete. It served as the ancient capital of the Rajput Empire. The king had 12 wives, each of whom had a room styled to her liking and room size was based on her family's fortune. Interesting was that there were marble screens for the wives to sit behind while watching the goings-on of the audience below. This was common in many of the sites we saw today, as there was not much entertainment at this time.
